Saffron threads are the hand-harvested, dried, deep-red stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower, known as the world's most expensive spice. They impart a distinct, subtle hay-like aroma, a slightly bitter-sweet taste, and a vibrant golden color to dishes like paella, risotto, and rice. High-quality threads should be dry, brittle, and uniform in color.

- Non-ETO*
- Non-Irradiated

Key Characteristics and Usage:
- Quality Indicators: Authentic, high-grade threads (such as Super Negin) are deep red. Avoid threads with yellow styles attached, as they have less flavor.
- Flavor Profile: A combination of earthy, hay-like, and sweet notes
- Usage Tip: To maximize flavor and color, crush threads and soak them in warm water, broth, or milk for at least 15–30 minutes before adding to dishes.
- Storage: Keep in an airtight, dark container in a cool place to maintain potency.
- Dosage: A small amount goes a long way; 1 gram contains roughly 550–600 threads.
Why Saffron is Expensive:
The high cost is due to the labor-intensive harvesting process, as each flower produces only three threads, which must be hand-picked before dawn.
